  Role of a Language Translator
Professional translators are neither walking dictionaries, nor machines that swallow words in one language then spit them out whole in another.
Google Translate takes automated language translation offline
Google's offline languages update allows Android users to download automated language translation packs for 50 languages, including Chinese, Arabic, French, and Spanish. Just make sure your device has enough storage space for your expanded vocabulary.
How a Language Translation Service Can Make Your Business Grow
We live in an interconnected world. Modern modes of transportation and lightning-fast communication mean that our interconnectedness is only set to increase. Sure, isolated pockets of humanity here and there will remain or flare up from time to time. Even so, any industry that wants to grow internationally (or even domestically) will have to know how to utilize a language translation service in order to make business growth a reality.
  Machine Translation Post-Editing Types
Post Editing is the next step after completing the machine translation (MT) process and evaluating its output. A human translator processes the document to verify that the source and target texts convey the same information and that the tone of the translation is consistent with the original document. The quality of machine translation varies and affects the subsequent effort required for post editing. There are contributory factors to the quality of the MT such as the clarity and quality of the source text; it is important to make sure that the source text is well-written and well-suited for machine translation beforehand. Other considerable factors that affect MT output quality include: the type of MT used, and the compatibility of the source and target languages.
There are two types or levels of post editing, light and full. The post editing process varies greatly in terms of turnaround time, and cost.      Read more...
The Importance of Precision in Legal Translation
Author Tony Phillips
Anyone who has read a legal brief knows that the law is many things, but it is first and foremost a battery of densely packed language in complicated arrangements.
The law is also an adversarial plane where battles and fortunes are won and lost on the basis of definitions. Legal translation is, therefore, not a realm where close enough is good enough. Like all good legal writing, good legal translation leaves no loop holes (except those you intended), uses terms precisely (except those you wish to be vague), and draws clean lines (unless you want them blurred).      Read more...
Pseudo-translation is used to simulate the effects of translation on the project files (commonly) by substituting vowel characters in the source files with accented characters or adding other characters. This is useful for software localization, or for complex formats (e.g. DTP and software localization) to help anticipate any conversion issues before translating the entire file.
One of the most common features in the pseudo-localization process involves translation of string resources.      Read more...
